Instagram User ID Finder
Type a username to get the account's Instagram user ID, the permanent number behind the handle. Works for public and private accounts. No login.
A username or a profile link both work.
How to find an Instagram user ID
- Type the username. With or without the @, or paste the profile link.
- Press Find ID. The number appears with the account's name and photo, so you can check it's the right one.
- Copy it. One tap puts the ID on your clipboard.
What an Instagram user ID is
Every account gets a number when it signs up. The username can change as often as the owner likes, but the ID stays the same for the life of the account. That makes it the reliable way to refer to an account in ad tools, analytics exports and API calls.
Why you'd need one
- Developers: Instagram's own API and most data tools work with IDs.
- Ads and analytics: exports and audience tools often list accounts by ID, not handle.
- Tracking renamed accounts: if someone changes their handle, the ID still points to them.
Finding when an Instagram account was created
The ID doesn't carry a date, but Instagram shows one. On any profile, tap ⋯ in the top corner, then About this account: it lists the month and year the account joined. For your own account, Your activity, then Account history, shows the day you created it. IDs were handed out roughly in order, so a much lower number usually means an older account.
