How do I download an Instagram reel?
Copy the reel's link, paste it in the box above and press Get download link. A preview loads with a Save button that downloads the file. It works the same on iPhone, Android and a computer, and you don't need an Instagram account.

Can I download reels inside the Instagram app?
Sometimes. On a public reel, tap the paper-plane share icon and look for Download in the bottom row. The saved copy carries an Instagram watermark with the creator's username, and the option is missing when the creator has turned downloads off or the account is private. This page saves the file without that watermark.
Why can't I save a reel to my camera roll?
Most of the time the creator has turned off downloads for their reels, so Instagram hides the button. A private account hides it too. If it's your own reel, the camera roll switch is in Settings and activity, under Archiving and downloading. Someone else's public reel you can still save here, from the link.
What quality is the downloaded reel?
Instagram serves reels to web browsers as one MP4 file, usually 720 by 1280 pixels with AAC sound. That's the file you get, untouched: we don't re-encode it or add anything. A reel uploaded in low quality stays that way, and a reel cross-posted from TikTok keeps TikTok's watermark, because it's part of the picture.
Where do downloaded reels go?
On iPhone, Save Video puts the reel in the Photos app under Recents. If you tapped Download in Safari instead, it's in the Files app, in the Downloads folder. On Android the file lands in Downloads and shows up in Gallery or Google Photos. On a computer it goes to your Downloads folder.
Can I download reels from a private account?
No. Private reels only play for the followers the account approved. There's no public file, so no site can fetch one, and a site that asks for your Instagram password to try is after your account. Stories work differently: the story downloader saves those.
Why does the download link stop working?
Instagram signs every file link with an expiry time a few hours out, and after that the link only returns an error. Save the file itself, not the link. If it has run out, paste the post link here again for a fresh one. The file goes from Instagram's servers straight to your browser and never through ours.

Can you save an Instagram reel?
Yes. Tap the paper plane under a public reel and you'll often see Download, though Instagram puts its watermark on that copy. Paste the reel's link here and you get the file clean. The little bookmark icon is a different thing. It just puts the reel in your Saved folder inside the app.
Does the creator know I downloaded it?
No. Instagram doesn't tell anyone that a post was saved, and this page never logs in to Instagram, so nothing is tied to your account.
Can I download just the audio from a reel?
Yes. When Instagram serves a separate sound track, it shows up as an M4A file next to the video. The audio downloader does the same with the sound listed first.
Is there a daily limit?
Yes: 30 links a day from one internet connection, which keeps the tool free. It resets every day. There's no account, card or trial.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, in any browser: Safari, Chrome, Samsung Internet or Firefox. There's no app to install. The save steps differ a little by device, and the page shows yours under the result.
Is it legal to download Instagram reels?
For yourself, yes in practice: saving a public reel to watch offline is personal use. Reposting is the problem. The video still belongs to whoever made it, they can report your copy, and Instagram takes reported reposts down and disables accounts that collect too many reports. Ask first, tag them.
