Can you view Instagram highlights anonymously?
Yes, for public accounts. This page fetches the highlights from our servers with nobody logged in, so there is no account that could appear in a viewer list. Type the username, press View highlights, then tap a cover to watch the stories inside it. The account gets no notification.

- Tap one to open it. Tap the right half to move forward, the left half to go back, and the X to close.
Can you see who viewed your highlights on Instagram?
Only for 48 hours after each story was first posted. In that window the viewer list shows everyone who watched, including views through the highlight. After 48 hours the names are gone for good, so nobody can see who opens an older highlight, and no app can bring the list back.
How do you watch a highlight without them knowing?
Check the age of the story first. If it went up more than 48 hours ago, you can open it in the app while logged in and your name won't be recorded. If it is newer, open it here instead: we aren't logged in, so nothing lands in the list whatever the story's age.
What this can and cannot show
There is no sign-in here and there never will be. Reading a public profile does not require one. Any site asking you to log in "to view highlights" is collecting credentials it does not need for the job. Close the tab.
- Public accounts work. Every highlight visible to any logged-out visitor.
- Private accounts do not. If you cannot see it while logged out, it is not public data and no tool can legitimately fetch it. Anything claiming otherwise wants your password.
- Deleted highlights do not. Once removed, they are gone.
- Nobody can see who viewed a highlight. That is only ever visible to the account owner, and only within the first 48 hours.
Frequently asked
Will they know I viewed their highlights?
No. Opening a highlight here doesn't touch their account. And for stories posted more than 48 hours ago, Instagram keeps no viewer list at all, even in the app.
Do I have to sign in to Instagram?
No. The highlights load from the public profile, so you stay signed out and nothing asks for a password.
Can I view highlights from a private account?
No. A private account's highlights only show to followers it approved, so there is nothing public to fetch.
Can I download Instagram highlights?
Yes. Open any story in a highlight and press Save to download that photo or video in the quality Instagram serves it. Each story is saved separately. For reels and posts, use the reel downloader.
Is it free?
Yes, for 5 accounts a day, shared with the story viewer. One view covers every highlight and story of that account for the rest of the day, and accounts with no highlights don't use one. Past 5, you can wait for tomorrow or buy a view pack.
Do highlights expire?
No. Unlike a story, a highlight stays on the profile until the account deletes it or removes the stories inside. If one you saw last week is gone, the owner took it down.
